Welcome

"What makes a film great?" The answer is simple.

Great film like any other form of great art must

evoke an emotional response, good or bad.

It's got to move me, make me question why

this is so and what it says about me

as an individual.   

 

I have called the blog "Celluoid Heroes".

Possibly the best British Gangster movie ever made. The final scene when Hoskins realises what's happening is brilliantly laid bare by his face. No words needed.



Thin Lizzy

On first glance Thin Lizzy look like a band Jimi Hendrix put together to go on tour. Then Phil Lynott opens his gob. He dedicates an all time classic rock ballad to his "Mudder" and in one word explains, what it is to be Irish.
